This is what the machine does. I took this one on a smaller one. It takes a solid piece of metal and a programer takes a 3-D computer program and writes a series of stops, starts and paths to follow in a certin order. An assortment of cutters, bits and drills come down out of the top part you see there. So the metal don't get too hot from friction and gald, a fluid mixture of water and oil combine and spray on the cutters at all times to keep them cool. Parts depending on the program and what is being run on the machine can take as little at 10 seconds per part or up to 6 hours. I have had both. We do a lot of military parts for ships, tanks, and weapons.  Toyota auto plant in different states, are another big customer of ours. I hope that answers some questions. Yes Ruth the other building (new one) is big, and lonley place to be at night. It is still under construction so it wont be that way for long.
And Sharon, yes someone asked me at the store, today what was the matter with my voice so I guess I still sound funny.
The new machine was bought just for REAL BIG jobs that we get. Two of the other machines would fit in the new one. I'm glad I'm not running it, it would also make REALLY BIG mistakes too! If you tell it to zig when it should zag look out!!! They call it 'crashing the machine' because that is what it sounds like-a car crash.
Sorry so long, hope its not too boring, but that is what I do here.

  1. Thank you for the explanation. I never really knew what you do all night. You have a lot of little things to 'get right' to make all that come together without having a 'car crash'!! You go girl!!
