Million Dollar Apple Pie

      Million   Dollar   Apple   Pie


Slice and pare 5 to 7 Winesap apples.
Combine in lg. bowl :
                                        1/3 c. of flour
                                        1/2 c. of sugar
                                        2 tsp. of cinnamon
                                        1/2 tsp. of nutmeg
                                        1/4 tsp. of salt
                                        sliced apples
Coat apples well, pour in pie shell.
Mix together:               
                                        1 c. of dark brown sugar
                                        1/2 tsp. of vanilla
                                        1 TBS. of lemon juice
                                        1/2 c. of soft butter
Combine well and dot on top of apples in pie shell.
Place top crust on pie and pierce top.  Bake in 400 degree oven for first 10 minutes, then 325 degree for 35-40 minutes.

  1. I well remember when Mom made this pie, several times, and they were so good, but I made it a couple of months ago, didn't use Winesap apples, and it didn't turn out well at all. I hope yours comes out perfect!
