Here is my helpful brother-in-law lending a hand with the comunity chicken coop. He is one of the nice neighbors that we have. He was nice enough to let us use it for the chickens in exchange for some fresh eggs, sounded like a plan to me! It took a week to complete, seemed like when the time presented its self to work on it the wind was always blowing about 25 m.p.h. off the lake and was almost unbearable at times. It don't look cold here but each weekend day we worked on it I don't think the temp. got above 35 degrees, brrrrr!!
Finally it was done and I am happy. Sharon, here is a picture of the head of cabbage less than 24 hours old. We hung it up Sat. afternoon and Sunday when we went to check on them it was half gone! It is hanging from a clothes hanger made into a hook and suspended from the ceiling. So I guess they liked it. Computer said good way to give them green stuff in the wintertime.
Very interesting. Great brother-n-law to help ya out. Such a clever idea, to hang a head of cabbage. Give them an apple for desert. Does Mr. Rooster crow and wake you? Hope the neighbors don't care. They might have chicken-n- dumplings for Sunday dinner.
ReplyDeleteYes, Clyde (the rooster) crows, he is to far away from us to hear him. I asked my neighbour lady and she said they think its neat to hear a rooster crow and it didn't bother them she said. He isn't a loud rooster anyway .
